The revised Tax Audit Framework 2019, effective from 15 December 2019, has been issued by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) to ensure that tax audit is being carried out in a fair, transparent and impartial manner. This framework aims to assist audit officers to perform their duties more efficiently and effectively; and assist tax payers to fulfil their responsibilities. As tax audit involves the examination of business records, supporting documents and financial affairs of taxpayers, records have be properly kept and correct corporate tax has to be paid accordingly. After the conclusion of tax audit, the taxpayers could follow the appeal procedures if there is ground to appeal against the additional assessments raised and penalties imposed by IRB. In view of the recent changes related to tax legislations and the on-going enforcement on tax audit, the management and Directors have to be sufficiently prepared for tax audit, minimize the errors and omissions; and mitigate the risks of non-compliance.

This workshop will be interactive using power-point presentation with practical examples, case studies and research studies in Malaysia.
