[01] INTRODUCTION

Occupational health issues significantly affect every worker’s health and wellbeing. It is an important component in the whole spectrum of occupational health and safety at workplace. Once ill, the productivity of a worker will drop and in general, occupational health is a contributor toward an organization’s overall business performance. Occupational health is also an agenda in the Malaysian occupational health laws.
This training has been specially designed to develop the awareness of employees in an organization about occupational health and at the same time cultivate the skill to manage effective occupational health programs at workplace.

[02] COURSE OBJECTIVES

• Understand occupational health issues at workplace to oneself
• Understand the health hazards at work and the basic approaches to working safely
• Identify and utilize critical support functions in the organization for one’s own safety, health and wellbeing
• Manage effective occupational health programs at workplace

[04] METHODOLOGY

This training program uses adult learning methods such as lectures, group discussion, Power Point presentations and games. Participants will spend half of the time in individual or group activities that allow them to cultivate the understanding and skills to manage occupational health at work while at the same time address individual health. The trainer will share his knowledge and actual experience and will draw real examples from the actual industry setting to reinforce learning.

[01] INTRODUCTION

A product or service begins and ends with a process. The key to success in business lies in the company’s processes. Important processes that are worthy improving not only involve close interaction with customers, but also other processes that add value to the business. Business processes shall not be considered as stationary. In today’s dynamic business environment, the capability of the company to ensure that the processes are adaptable to the business environment are crucial. Business process improvement is becoming more and more important to business success than ever before.
This training has been specially designed to develop the skills regarding effective business process improvement at workplace and to take the necessary approaches to establish, implement and maintain an effective business process improvement program to be in line with the ISO 9001:2015 and other management systems.
The participants will be also exposed to the method to manage business process improvement in different industries. The participants will be also exposed to the relevant tools to conduct business process improvement for the organization.

• To develop the process inventory in an organization
• To be able to determine the priorities for process improvement
• To be able to identify define process scope and conduct process mapping
• To be able to design and implement effective programs to improve organizational resilience toward disruptive incidents
• To be able to estimate process time and cost
• To learn about the 6 elements in an improvement cycle
• To be able to use data collection and analysis tools
• To be able to manage exercises and testing for plan effectiveness
• To learn about change issues and continuous improvement aspects in business process improvement
• To be able to prepare a simple report about business process improvement activity(ies)

[07] SPEAKER PROFILE

HISHAMUDDIN ABDUL HALIM
HRDF Certified Trainer

Hishamuddin Abdul Halim is the former Head of Occupational Safety and Health Section at the University of Malaya. Prior to joining the University of Malaya, he served in the manufacturing sector.
His work experience covered production, quality control, logistics and warehouse, supply chain management and QSHE. He has more than 25 years of experience in establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving various management systems such as ISO9001, ISO 45001, ISO14001, C-TPAT, BCM and so on. He was actively involved in the development, review of documents and as well as auditing for those management systems. He was also actively involved in the implementation of various 6δ and innovation projects at the organizational level.
Hishamuddin Abdul Halim holds a Bachelor of Management (Hons) degree from Multimedia University and has passed the Safety and Health Officer exam with NIOSH. He is also a PSMB trainer, Ministry of Human Resources (TTT / 2448). He was trained by Emory University in BSL-3 and as well as attended IRCA lead auditor training program organized by Neville Clarke.
In the field of training, he actively designs and delivers training programs and talks in various sub-fields such as QSHE, BCM, emergency preparedness and response, store management and inventory, security, administration, and etc. He has trained staffs or delivered talks for HG Power Transmission, IAC Electricals, Gamlite IT, Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), University of Malaya, LASAM, Singapore Institution of Safety Officers, Latexx Manufacturing, FGV, Tradewinds Plantations, Malaysian Society of Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) and etc. He is a major contributor to the topic of occupational safety and health and as well as environmental management and animal facilities in the Panduan Penjagaan dan Penggunaan Haiwan Makmal (2017) published by Penerbit Universiti Malaya.
