[I] INTRODUCTION

Restriction of movement due to the pandemic has accelerated the interest and adoption of Cloud Business solutions. Working from home, for example, requires the availability of a reliable cloud software.

Cloud accounting refers to accessing the accounting software online hosted on remote servers. Data is sent into the 'cloud' and can be accessed from anywhere on any device with an internet connection rather than on on-premises computers. Therefore, cloud accounting requires far less maintenance. Additionally, backup and updates occur automatically and nothing needs to be downloaded or installed on a company computer.

Cloud computing is transforming the way organisations consume accounting services and offers a wide variety of functionalities. Unlike traditional accounting software, cloud accounting software updates financial information on real-time basis accurately and are able to handle multi-currency and multi-company/branches transactions more efficiently. Gain the opportunity to learn about cloud accounting and its emerging importance.

Emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning relevant to the future of the accounting and finance profession will also be explored.
